Congratulations to our 2016 IYGP Scholarship Fund recipients!  Please help others join them in 2017!

In June 2016, the International Young Governance Professionals (IYGP) and IPGA announced the formation of the IYGP Scholarship Fund - created to support young professionals interested in effective governance principles and education.

Through generous donations from both IPGA and IYGP members, as well as support from our review panel, we were able to offer two scholarships to attend the 2016 IPGA Conference developed in cooperation with IYPG.

Missy Chareka from Calgary, who is using her board experience and lessons learned to serve the not-for-profit sector, contributing to the advancement of women and minorities, lending her voice to the homeless community and benefiting the Calgary airport authority.

Here's what Missy Chareka had to say about her participation in 2016.

It was a truly eye-opening experience - and I met many phenomenal people from all around the world. Our generation is faced with so many challenges and attending this conference enabled me to learn how I, as a young governance professional, can facilitate positive change in the organizations I support.

Matthew Schroeder, from Toronto, works in the social sector and his participation as a board member has allowed him to help bring higher education to impoverished communities. He is using the collaborative opportunities provided in 2016 to facilitate local and global change.

A special thanks goes out to Catherine Raso, Fiona Burgess and Lindsay Falt for serving on the IYGP Scholarship Fund review panel.

We are currently accepting applications for the 2017 Summit in San Diego, CA, USA - June 22-24, 2017. Please complete the application form and email to iypgcoordination@gmail.com.
